The tower was on my list of places to see, more as a "tick the check box, I've seen it", type of visit. I had seen many pictures of the tower but I was stunned by how beautiful it was. The architecture of the tower is so intricate, it gives a feeling of it being delicate. The colours that day were amazing, with a bright blue sky and lush green grass creating an excellent backdrop to the glow of white from the marble. It's a long climb up the tower, but interesting. There is a different feeling to the climb into the lean of the tower and the climb out of it, so every time you have completed the circle, you feel as though your legs are going to die, and then all of a sudden it feels easier as the angle changes. The vista from the top makes the climb worthwhile. We were there in time for the first tour of the day, a good idea to avoid long lineups.
